Rosyth Recreation 1929
Although The name of "Rosyth Recreation" dates back to about 1929, a break of many years with no teams saw the Club rise to prominence in Youth Football in November 1989, when the Chairman of the Rosyth Recreation Social Club (aka The Dockyard Club) Mr. Andy Burnett together with Bob Forrest, set up the first of what was to be several youth football teams, who would participate in youth leagues and competitions within Fife and throughout Scotland. The first team began at Under 13s that year and with the support of Danny Brown and Scott Forrest, played friendlies throughout Scotland, before they were able to join the Under 14s League within the Association of Fife Youth Football Clubs the following year. In their first season, the team finished runners-up in the 14s League to Balgonie Colts, but were successful in winning the first trophy for the Club, lifting the Fife Cup after an extra-time win over Balgonie, at Warout Stadium in Glenrothes. The following Season, Andy Burnett was instrumental in forming what was at that time, one of the biggest youth football organisations in Fife, if not Scotland . Andy approached local side Harley Villa, who along with Allan Foote, still involved with the 21s team, joined the Rosyth Recreation F.C. Setup giving the Club teams from 10s right through to 18s.

During the years that followed, several Managers and Coaches have been involved with the Rosyth Rec set up, Bill Nairn, Jim MacDonald, John Yorkston (Now Chairman of Dunfermline Athletic F.C.), Iain Innes, Davie Chambers, James Charles, Jimmy Haddow, Brian Paterson, Sandy Collier, Des Grattan and Craig Turner to name only a few. During the 1990's the Club enjoyed much success at most age groups, League Titles, Cup Wins, and success in international tournaments followed. Arguably one of the most successful teams would be the Under 12s from 1995/96 who as well as winning their own League Title in Fife, won the first, and to date only, Scottish Cup for the Club. Managed by Des Grattan and Davie Chambers the team enjoyed a fantastic season which culminated in lifting the Scottish Cup at Camelon Juniors Ground against Gairdoch with a 1-0 win. In fact, some of the players from that winning side are back playing with the current Under 21s.

..."Arguably one of the most successful teams would be the Under 12s from 1995/96"...

Over the years the number of sides has dwindled as players and coaches have moved on. The current Under 21 side keep the flag flying for The Rec, 5 League Championship wins - back to back 1997/98 & 1998/99 and again back to back 2002/03, 2003/04 & 2004/05, keep the name prominent in Fife Youth Football - and even now, despite a much smaller set up, none of the dedication, passion and enjoyment within the club - from players and coaches alike - has been lost.
